From A to Zoo: Special Delivery to Denver
At ZMac, we’re no strangers to handling freight that’s a little outside the box—or, in this case, outside the usual shape. When we were tasked with coordinating the transport of a 23-foot-long, 15’3”-wide curved acrylic structure, we knew timeliness and protection were key.
This unique structure, likely designed for overhead coverage, required special care throughout its journey to the Denver Zoo. Not only was it an oversized load, but it also had to remain completely tarped and shielded from the elements—no room for monkey business when it came to protection. Additionally, the shipment required seamless crane coordination at both pick-up and delivery, ensuring the load was lifted, secured, and set in place without a hitch. With a tight timeline and a specialized transport plan, our customer knew the right partnerships would make all the difference.
From securing the right driver to ensuring a smooth handoff with the crane and offload crew at delivery, our team orchestrated every step to keep this project on track. By partnering with trusted carriers and maintaining constant communication, we ensured that every detail—from tarping to timing—was handled flawlessly. This move is a great example of the attention to detail, problem-solving, and expert logistics that set ZMac apart. Our work helps bring projects to life—sometimes quite literally, as this structure will soon serve as an integral piece of the Denver Zoo’s environment. We take pride in knowing that every oversized load we coordinate plays a role in something bigger—whether it’s supporting infrastructure, innovation, or, in this case, a wild new addition to a beloved zoo.
